How To Beat “Cage Con” Boss (Dark Star Cage) in Mortal Kombat 1 Invasions Season 5 -

When it comes to invasions mode in MK1, some of these bosses can downright ridiculous to defeat. Some you can just combo spam through, but others you’ll need to think a little harder. Dark Star Cage is one that you’re going to need to put a little more effort into. As the final boss of the Rampart mesa, this annoying Johnny Cage remix will leave you frustrated if you continuously attempt to beat him down and fail. Here’s some options you can take in order to win!

Choose a character with high defensive points

The first two tips here are obvious, you’re either going to need a ton of health or a ton of defense to get past this boss. Our suggestion would be to pick a fighter with high defense points OR energy resistance. The best bet is going with Reiko.

Use a health oriented talisman or load all stat points into health

During the 3rd phase of this fight, you’ll be faced with an army of green energy fireballs that you must dodge. These obstacles eat up a ton of health on contact, so you want to have as much health as possible. Although this is a good strategy in general, it only makes this boss *slightly* more manageable. You might be able to squeeze through the fireballs, but by the time you make it out you’ll probably not have enough health to win. The next tip is the major key.

Use an energy resistant konsumable

Any konsumable that increases your characters resistance to the energy element is the real key to winning this battle. Specifically, there’s an item called the “Plasma Capsule” in the shop you MUST use before starting this boss fight. During the 3rd phase of the fight, you’ll pretty much die in 1 touch if you don’t have it.

Use a fire element kameo or character

Choosing a kameo like Sareena, Scorpion, or Tremor will allow you to get extra damage out of your kameo’s attacks. This will help speed up the fight.

General Community Strategy – Reiko + Sareena + Plasma Capsule

This combination of Main, Kameo, and Power Up will satisfy all of the conditions above to help you quickly and easily defeat Dark Star Cage. Choosing Reiko as your main fighter gives you a strong character with both high health and defensive stats. If you want to cheese your way through this, all you need to do is spam his 1-2-1 and 4-3-4 combos. With this general community strategy, Dark Star Cage won’t even be able to hit you. All you have to do is mash.

Choosing Sareena as your kameo will give you the elemental damage boost that you need and also help you squeeze out more damage with her back kameo projectile. She can make the fight a little more easier by giving you the option to extend your combo while also draining extra health from Cage every now and then.

Equipping yourself with the Plasma Capsule konsumable just might be the most important part of this. Using this item will basically make Reiko immune to any and all attacks that Cage attempts, because Reiko himself already has energy resistance! This will allow you to absorb all of the damage from the energy fireballs that you have to dodge during the last phase of the fight. Making finishing this boss a breeze. At the end of this, you’ll be able to beat Cage Con without taking any damage at all!
